Summer Days

I love summer time and all it brings with it... The heat, the tanning, the swimming, the naked babies running around, the bbqs, the drinks and the Popsicles! Sophia and I spend at least 60% of our day outdoors, mainly in the morning, early afternoon and evening. In the mid-afternoon it is just too stinkin' hot if we aren't in a pool. Thankfully Nathan's dad has a nice pool in his backyard, so we are over there a couple times a week and ALL weekend long. This weekend is going to be pretty busy. Tonight we're going to dinner at a friend's new house, pulled pork sandwiches & corn on the cob, yum! I'm bringing white-chocolate macadamia nut cookies for dessert. Tomorrow in the morning we're going over to Sophia's friend's house to go swimming, we'll come home to nap, get ready for Moma & Gpa Larry to come over for dinner... I'm making a garlicky pork roast & mashed red potatoes w/ broccoli and cauliflower for dinner. Leftover cookies for dessert, they are my mom's favorite. Then Friday night, it is Nathan's friend's 30th birthday party at a restaurant/bar in town, so my father-in-law is coming over to watch the girls while we have 'adult time' for a bit. The next day is a birthday party for one of Nathan's work buddies daughter... she's turning 4, and they're pregnant w/ their second daughter, so that's always exciting to talk babies!! Then my guess is we'll be spending the rest of the weekend at his dad's house, in the pool and bbqing.

Sophia's birthday is in 6 days, I can't believe my baby girl is going to be 2 years old already!! ♥ Time flies when you're loving your life. ♥ I ordered her Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cake today and her Schwinn tricycle came in the mail! We're going to do a very small, family only, bbq in the backyard. Last year was a bit chaotic and I'm not quite ready to relive that with a 3 month old in tow.

We're going to follow the tradition my parents started, doing "friends" birthday parties every other year. It makes you appreciate them more and it gives the parents a break. Our girls are going to have their "friends parties" on the same year, so there will be no hard feelings. Odd numbers... 1, 3, 5... so on and so forth.. the one exception is their Sweet 16 party!! That is far enough away though, I'm not going to worry about it quite yet! Summer is my favorite season, by far, and I'm going to enjoy it while it's here... Holler.

Do blondes, in fact, have more fun?

So... I'm finally at the color I've been wanting to be for about 6 months now. I've gotten highlights here and there, but never went full throttle blond. I love it. I was going to this other salon, and she kept giving me "light" highlights but never really listened to what I wanted. I am growing out a super short (mistake) haircut and it always felt really bulky. So I went to Bella Luna, where my girlfriend Vanessa just started cutting hair (she took a few years off to raise here baby girls) and I'm beyond pleased!! She actually listened to what I wanted and then proceeded to do it. I'll never go to anyone else!!! ♥ Thanks Nessa.

4th of July Weekend

We had such an amazing time in Pine Mountain Lake w/ my husband's family! ♥ There were eleven of us in total, including the three small children. We stayed in a cabin, the beach was 3/4 of a mile away, a brisk 10 minute walk, and we were surrounded by nature. It was a perfect mini-getaway, and the fact that Nathan's Dad was there was a huge bonus. He is currently Sophia's favorite person, so I didn't have to worry about her, she was w/ her Grandpa Clyde 97% of the time. ♥ We are going to rent a cabin there again next summer.

Hardly Eating; Kind of Loving it.

First off, this is a picture of my "goal body." I'm hoping by Christmas, I'll be rockin' it. Now onto other things...
Ever since my bout of food poisoning, I haven't had much of an appetite. I ate Strings on Sunday, full meal and threw that up... since then, I've picked at my food and snacked off and on instead of eating any real meals. I don't know why my appetite isn't back, but I'm not going to complain for now. The past for days, on an average day, I eat fruit for breakfast, snack on cheese cubes, for lunch a whole grain (either a few bites of toast or 1/2 bowl of cream of wheat) and a lot of water. I usually snack on some peanuts or cashews around 4pm, and have dinner ready around 6:15pm, although I only have a few bites of the veggies, and I'm done. Before bed, I'll snack on some pretzels or a yogurt... and that's about it. I'm not sure if I'm officially back to the way I ate before I became pregnant w/ Zoe, or if it's still part of the not feeling well. I feel 100% back to normal though, so I'm thinkin' it's permanent. I have to say, I've been steadily losing weight, so that's a plus, and my milk is still in full supply. I've never gotten to the point where I feel weak or light-headed, so I think I'm going to try, what I call the "Hollywood Diet" for a few more weeks and see how I feel. I'm sure I'll get back to my pre-baby weight a lot quicker, and as long as I'm making healthy choices, I don't see how it's a bad thing. I'm not trying to develop anorexia or anything, but my desire to eat has almost completely diminished. Strange. Any comments??
